Tough conversations - for outcomes that matter

Some conversations are not easy but you know they’re necessary to get the outcome you need. Being able to gain clarity by seeing an issue in a wider context and discussing this in a safe environment can provide a way forward where none seems visible. Having a intermediary, whether its for mediation, a facilitated discussion or systems focused workshops creates clarity, strengthens understanding and helps people and organisations get back on track.

I work with individuals, businesses, boards, organisations and stakeholder groups to resolve disputes, facilitate constructive dialogue, build consensus and explore complex challenges. Through Mediate, Facilitate and Navigate, I create the space, structure and tools for better conversations, stronger decisions and more resilient ways forward.

Mediation

Finding a way through conflict

When conversations become stuck, having an independent person in the room can help change the dynamic.

As a neutral mediator, I create a structured and confidential process where people can step away from entrenched positions, understand different perspectives and explore what really matters. My role is not to decide who is right or impose a solution, but to facilitate constructive conversation, uncover underlying interests and help parties identify where agreement may be possible.

Mediation can provide a practical way forward when relationships, competing interests or complex circumstances make direct negotiation difficult.

Facilitation

Creating space for better conversations

Businesses, boards, communities and stakeholder groups sometimes need an independent facilitator to help them tackle important questions, particularly when there are different perspectives around the table.

I can help facilitate conversations that allow ideas to emerge, different voices to be heard and groups to develop greater clarity about what matters and where they want to go. This can include strategic conversations, stakeholder engagement, consensus building, complex decision making and discussions where relationships or competing interests need careful navigation.

Drawing on systems thinking, I help groups look beyond individual issues to see connections, dependencies and the wider context influencing the conversation. The aim is not always complete agreement, but greater understanding and enough common ground to move forward.

Navigation

Building capacity to navigate complexity

Navigating through a rapidly changing environmental, social and economic landscape can be challenging. The ability to understand the interlinking systems around us and the drivers (e.g. climate change, technology, resource use, energy availability, demographic shifts) that will shape the future, challenge assumptions and adapt to changing conditions is becoming an essential leadership skill.

I am an applied system theory practitioner. Through research or capacity building, I help businesses, boards, teams and other organisations strengthen their capacity to navigate the future. Research and workshops can explore systems thinking and complexity, leadership, purpose and values, organisational resilience, business robustness, future thinking and the alignment of purpose with practical action.

Start the conversation

A constructive way forward often starts with a conversation. Get in touch to discuss how I may be able to help.
